Medicinal Chemistry Awards & Lectures
The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Kansas is very fortunate to be able to present to the faculty and students several lecture series and awards during the year. Two of the lecture series are made possible through endowed funds in memory Dr. Edward E. Smissman and Mathias P. Mertes, former faculty members in the department. The Department also provides an award for the outstanding senior graduate student through the generosity of the Irsay-Dahle Fund. The Meeting in Miniature (MIKI) is, in part, supported by the department to provide graduate and postdoctoral students with an opportunity to plan, organize and host a regional meeting where students present their research to fellow colleagues from the Universities of Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas and Illinois.
