The Medicinal Chemistry Department

Malott Hall, on the Lawrence campus, houses the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, as well as the Departments of Chemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmacy Practice and the Animal Care Unit.

Research personnel in the department include twelve full-time faculty members, a technical staff of 12, about 30 graduate students, 10 to 15 postdoctoral research students, and several undergraduate research students.

The Departments of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Physiology and Cell Biology are in an adjoining building. The department maintains close collaborations with other science departments on the Lawrence campus and with scientists at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.
